Cloud 9

Cloud 9's story is one of perseverance and passion. The team began as Kaipi, a relatively unknown European squad with nothing but a few strong showings in online cups.

All of that changed when current members bOne7 and PieLieDie brought on EternalEnVy, fresh off his removal from the team that made him a champion and desperate to get back to the top. The team began to get more and more serious, and their online performances were beginning to attract attention. Their first major roster swap brought in Arteezy and ComeWithMe, the former joining a professional team for the first time. They continued to improve their performance even further, and many thought them a lock for the TI3 Qualifiers. Much to their shock, Kaipi weren't even invited. Rather than allow the disappointment to crush them, they pressed on. More roster changes brought Aui_2000 and SingSing to the team to replace CWM and RTZ, and their first sponsorship - Speed Gaming - followed soon after. Snubbed once again by MLG, fan pressure caused the tournament to cave and bring them in anyway. And they won the whole thing, over all-star Chinese squad DK. Not long after that, Cloud 9 took on the team as their new sponsor, and they continued to place highly in international tournaments all year: culminating in a Top 6 finish at TI4. Now, with SingSing replaced by FATA for the new year as their sole roster change, Cloud 9 looks to turn around a long streak of "almosts" and take home the gold at the D2L.
